Volunteer for us

Volunteers are central to the ethos and services of Imago. There are lots of ways you can get involved

Retail Assistants

We are recruiting volunteers for the Imago charity shop on Monson Road, Tunbridge Wells. The store has been beautifully refurbished and stocked with donations. Volunteer retail assistants will work alongside the shop supervisor to sort, price and display items for sale, as well as serve customers. Volunteers are fully involved in all aspects of the shop and we welcome ideas and innovation. Hours are flexible; volunteers will be asked to sign up to 4 hour shifts. No experience needed but a commitment to excellent customer service is essential. Proceeds from the shop support local Imago projects. Volunteers must be 16+ years.

Are urgently needed for our community transport service in West Kent. Dial 2 Drive helps members of the community who have difficulty using public transport due to age, illness or mobility. Volunteer Drivers use their own cars to take clients to hospitals, clinics, day centres or social appointments, it’s a great way to do some extremely valuable community work without being tied down to a particular day and time. Drivers are reimbursed expenses and drive when they are available. Some drivers carry out regular drives and others just a couple of drives a month; it really is a very flexible way to volunteer. The service covers Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks and the surrounding areas.

Young Carer Activity Volunteers

Our Young Carers services support children and young people who look after somebody in their family who has an illness, disability, mental health or substance misuse issue. We deliver a rolling programme of workshops across Kent, East Sussex and the London Boroughs of Southwark, Bexley and Havering, with the aim of supporting Young Carers to develop confidence, self-esteem and resilience while learning important life skills and having fun!   Volunteers are asked to commit to just a few hours a month and must be 18+ years.

Fun Club Short Break Volunteers

Support children and young people with disabilities to take part in centre or community based activities across Kent. We offer early evening youth cafes for disabled young people aged 8-18 where taking part in activities, such as games, cookery and art, helps build confidence, awareness, independence and positive attitudes.  We also deliver residential fun clubs and school holiday activities for disabled young people aged 10-18 who take part in activities alongside volunteers their own age; this might be a visit to the beach, bowling, theatre, museum or animal centre. Activities are led by experienced and trained staff. Volunteers are 14-18 years.

We are looking for people with an interest in photography to join our bank of volunteer photographers. You might be asked to take photos at an event or fundraising activity or take stock photos at clubs and activities to add to our library to be used in Imago publications.
