Young Carers Awareness Training – January 2018 – March 2018

We have developed a 2-hour multi-agency training programme delivered by Imago Young Carers on behalf of Kent County Council as part of its commitment to safeguard vulnerable children. The training session will focus on resilience, confidence building, improved wellbeing for young people and their families, and promoting the early intervention and prevention of inappropriate caring roles for young carers.   To see more information, dates and how to book please click here

25 Jan 2018

Imago joined the national Young Carers Awareness Day activities on the 25th January to raise awareness locally of the support available.

Imago Young Carers services took part in a variety of events to mark Young Carers Awareness Day 2018. #youngcarersawarenessday

East Sussex Young Carers launched #PieFaceChallenge and encouraged staff, families, friends and schools to take part. One school even raised funds by charging 50p per pie to be thrown at the teaching staff. They also trained a school in how to identify young carers.

Kent Young Carers held a conference, No Wrong Doors for Young Carers. The event was attended by professionals and families from across the county. The conference was an opportunity to hear how organisations have been supporting young carers, reflect on the outcomes of the research and to help develop this work further. The hashtag #LetsTalkAboutYoungCarers was trending during the day.
