Volunteer with us

Volunteers are central to the ethos and services of Imago. There are lots of ways you can get involved

Finance Assistant volunteer

One day per week (Monday or Friday), Tunbridge Wells

Imago runs Short Break fun clubs for disabled children across the 12 districts of Kent. A key aspect of the Finance department is to make sure pro formas are submitted every month for each club. The pro forma acts as a financial record for each trip, with how much was spent and how much collected from the young people on each date.

As a Finance Assistant the role would involve:

  • Ensuring that all pro forma are submitted for each date a club is run.
  • Checking the receipts received and paid for clubs match with what is input on our Quickbooks accounting system.
  • Doing a weekly reconciliation of the petty cash. This includes recording on our Quickbooks accounting system all shop receipts and any other funds that have arrived in.
  • Ensuring the petty cash balance matches the total cash in hand.

Based in our Tunbridge Wells office there are admin roles available to support either the Dial 2 Drive community transport service with taking drive bookings and scheduling journeys or the Hub team with receiving referrals for services and inputting data into a database. You would need to be computer literate for either role and happy making and receiving calls for the Dial 2 Drive role.

Retail Assistants

We have opportunities for retail assistants in the Imago charity shops on Monson Road and Crescent Road, Tunbridge Wells. Volunteer retail assistants will work alongside the shop supervisor to sort, price and display items for sale, as well as serve customers. Volunteers are fully involved in all aspects of the shop and we welcome ideas and innovation. Hours are flexible; volunteers will be asked to sign up to 4 hour shifts. No experience needed but a commitment to excellent customer service is essential. Proceeds from the shops support local Imago projects. Volunteers must be 16+ years.

Drivers

Our community transport service Dial 2 Drive helps members of the community who have difficulty using public transport due to older age, illness or mobility problems in west Kent. Volunteer Drivers use their own cars to take clients to hospitals, clinics, day centres or social appointments. It’s a great way to do some extremely valuable community work and is flexible to fit around your commitments. Drivers are reimbursed expenses and drive when they are available. Some drivers carry out regular drives and others just a couple of drives a month. The service covers Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks and is looking for drivers those areas as well as in the Dartford and Gravesham areas.
