Children & Young People Co-ordinator - Young Carers

Are you passionate about children reaching their full potential?

Are you confident, self-motivated, flexible, and have a ‘can do’ attitude?

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team delivering Young Carer services. Imago is a leading charity providing support and opportunities to people across the South East. You will be responsible for a dedicated area, and following training, will manage an existing caseload, new referrals and deliver a programme of monthly themed workshops. In this role, you will assess Young Carers in schools and meet with families in their own homes.

Using the Young Carer service toolkit, you will provide short-term interventions that support Young Carers to improve their resilience, educational chances and wellbeing. This might be signposting to local services, action planning, one-to-one support, or our 12-month workshop programme.

You will build trusted relationships to make referrals to a range of professionals, including health and social care, ensuring whole family needs are met and reducing the impact of caring on the young person. You will respond to challenging and complex situations with a measured response, in line with Imago Safeguarding and Lone Working Policies.

A key aspect of this role is to raise awareness and identify hidden Young Carers. You will have the opportunity to work with schools to train staff and develop a support programme for students, as well as developing wider networks.

You can make the difference and give a Young Carer their childhood back.
