Children & Young People Co-ordinator - children with disabilities

Are you passionate about children reaching their full potential?

Are you confident, self-motivated, flexible, and have a ‘can do’ attitude?

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team working with children and young people with mild to moderate disabilities. Imago is a leading charity providing support and opportunities to people across the South East.

You will join an established team and have responsibility for a dedicated area. Following training, you will manage an existing caseload, new referrals and deliver a programme of after school café-style groups (8-15 years), Saturday Clubs (15-19 years) and school holiday trips.

In this role, you will plan, organise and risk assess fun and engaging group activities that support personal and social development, and promote independence. You will work with local businesses, services and communities to ensure equality of access.

As a lead, you will work with both colleagues and volunteers to deliver sessions, encouraging peer interactions. Challenging behaviours and situations require a calm and measured response, in line with Imago Safeguarding Policies. Excellent record keeping is essential using our bespoke database.

In addition, you will build trusted relationships with families by keeping in regular communication.

A key aspect of this role is to raise awareness and promote the service. There is the opportunity to attend events and meet with schools, as well as developing wider networks.

You can make a difference and help young people try something new, make friends, and lead a happy and fulfilled life.
