CAMEO (Come and Meet Each Other)

What is CAMEO?

CAMEO (Come And Meet Each Other) is our befriending programme with events and activities focused on supporting people aged 55+ who are socially isolated or experiencing loneliness due to life changing circumstances.  It is a 12-week programme of varied sessions. Recent groups have had visits from police dogs, enjoyed local activities and trips out such as to Wide Eye Falconry and creative workshops in partnership with the Beany in Canterbury.

The programme is available to those living in Ashford, Canterbury and Swale through our Wellbeing Matters Plus service.

A key aim of CAMEO is sustainability, and we hope that and we hope that some people will continue to be in contact with fellow participants outside the programme, leading to ongoing friendships.   Some previous attendees have even joined us as volunteers, helping to support others within their community.
