Sevenoaks Lions donate £1050 for Young Carers!
Sevenoaks Lions fund 3 special respite days for young carers
Young carers take on incredible responsibilities every day, often helping to look after a parent, sibling, or family member. While their dedication is remarkable, it can leave little time for them to simply be children, relax, and spend time with friends.
That's why we're delighted to share that Sevenoaks Lions Club has generously donated £1,050 to fund three dedicated respite activities for young carers in Sevenoaks.
Thanks to this support, young carers will enjoy a range of memorable experiences, including: Kent Wildlife, a Pantomime at Christmas and the Eagle Heights Bird of Prey centre.
These activities offer much more than a day out. They provide young carers with a valuable opportunity to take a break from their caring responsibilities, build friendships with others who understand their experiences, and access support from our trained and caring staff.
For many young carers, meeting peers who face similar challenges can be life-changing. These respite days create a safe space where they can relax, have fun, and feel understood.
We're so grateful to the Sevenoaks Lions for this generous donation. Respite activities are such an important part of our work as these days out mean young people can just be children.
