It's Volunteers' Week!
Monday 2nd - Sunday 8th June
Volunteers' Week is our chance to celebrate and recognise the amazing contribution that volunteers make to our Imago team. Our volunteers offer their time, enthusiasm and expertise, making a real difference in their communities.
From volunteer drivers in our community transport service and helpers in our charity shop, to telephone befrienders, office volunteers and those who support our social and activity groups, we want to say a huge thank you to each and every one! We really couldn't do it without you.
Are you interested in volunteering?
Volunteering has many personal benefits, from boosting mental and physical wellbeing to connecting with others, enhancing your CV and developing confidence.
There are lots of opportunities to get involved, with Imago and also with other charities and community groups in West Kent. Contact us today to start your volunteering journey, and find out more here.
We spoke to Donna, one of our volunteer telephone befrienders to find out why she volunteers with Imago.
Why did you decide to volunteer with us?
As a carer I was impressed with the services Imago provided for us as a family.
What do you enjoy about volunteering?
I enjoy having the opportunity to help others by making a simple phone call.
What would you say to someone who was interested in volunteering with Imago?
Imago treat you as part of their team. You are not just a volunteer. They have your wellbeing in mind as well as their service users. You will never feel alone or unsupported.
