Carers Week: Young Carers Day Thursday 12th June

The theme for this year's Carers Week, which runs from 9-15 June is 'Caring About Equality'.

During Carers Week, Thursday 12th June is focused on raising awareness of the challenges faced by young carers. Young carers often experience significant inequalities in their lives as their caring responsibilities can limit access to education, social opportunities, and personal development. This can impact their overall wellbeing and future prospects.

We support young carers in Kent, East Sussex and the London boroughs of Bexley, Greenwich, Havering, Southwark and Lewisham to balance caring with leading their own lives. We offer practical advice and emotional support, workshops, outings, trips and activities and peer support groups.

With the right support, we believe that every young carer can thrive.

For more information about our young carers support services, visit our young carers page.

Help to raise awareness of young carers

We are offering a free online training session on Thursday 12th June 12pm-1.30pm 'Identifying and Supporting Young Carers' for professionals and teachers working with young people. More details and book here.
